Case Studies
The following case studies include a number of successful initiatives led by either Stewart or Gossage prior to the establishment of StewartGossage.

State Of Florida-High Speed Rail

Problem - You are trying to build America's high speed rail system. A winning bid set the stage for the largest P3 project in rail transportation history. You are up against big oil money, airlines and the brother of the President of the United States. Do you withdraw or checkmate?

Solution - Expose the competition and challenge the status quo by leveraging media and voter interest in the preferred solution and through broad distribution of the findings of state of the art polling.

Ontario-Subway Car Procurement

Problem - At issue are thousands of Canadian jobs and an aggressive offshore competitor who can say anything they want in the press-and do.

Solution - Mobilize a bi-partisan community of stakeholders and advocates for jobs and economic advancement from the directly affected communities, to lobby all levels of government in support of a Made in Canada strategy.

Toronto Olympic Bid - International Media

Problem - The bid needed to spark the imagination of reporters outside Canada without moving the team to 30 countries.

Solution - Invite New York-based foreign correspondents to well organized bid pitch hosted by the Canadian Consul general.

Canadian Airlines - American Airlines merger

Problem - Facing no growth and disastrous results, Canadian Airlines needed a strategy to secure the support of Ottawa regulators and national business reporters for an unpopular merger.

Solution - With patient personal contacts and the most persuasive materials, success was achieved with both key groups.

TELUS - Market Expansion

Problem - TELUS was riding into Bell's home territory and wanted to quickly take some business and political turf - Bell was the dominant player with control of the board.

Solution - A clear strategy, high profile launch, attended by a stellar array of VIP's, and business magazine cover play of the new Ontario executive gave the opponent major worries.

Canadian Pacific Railway - Damage Control

Problem - Initial findings on the cause of a disastrous derailment killing an Oshawa family in a van were potentially very damaging- how best to manage the issue and meet the needs of the family?

Solution - A full communications strategy that started with the family, through local and national politicians and ended with fullest disclosure for media turned the game around.
